We started selling at fetes and markets in mid march. We had high hopes and expectations and honestly thought we would sell out every time, but we didn’t. We had so many cookies left over from our first market that we had to give away the remaining to friends.

But as we continued on with our second, third, fourth and now fifth market, the best thing we have gained is learning from our experiences.
Each time we do a market we learn which shapes are most popular, which colours are striking, who our target audience is and what can we do differently next time.
One of our biggest changes is creating gift jars with an assortment of cookies inside for all occasions. Many people commented that the cookies were “too pretty or nice to eat,” which was such a great compliment, so we thought if they were too pretty to eat for customers to eat themselves then wouldn’t it be a great idea to give them as gifts!
The jars will definitely be a permanent addition to our range.

Markets are also a great way to get our name put there and meet new people and other market stall holders and getting to share advice and experiences with each other.
Gingerbread corner will continue to do markets at this stage and we will give updates on when our next one will be.
